Retailers are a part of the Wii U problem

Haha, no.   People are.  It's been said before, but the general public does believe that the Wii U is a device to update the Wii to HD and that 3DS games work on the DS.   

But according to this website, 3DS is the top selling console every week, so people are clearly fine. 

People might be confused about Wii - WiiU, but again thats nintendos fault, awful branding combined with terrible messaging.
