Yeah, the way Lincoln saw it is that if African Americans could be profitable for slave owners as slaves they probably knew how to run to the farming in the south on their own and be quite profitable at it after the civil war. After Lincoln was assassinated, Andrew Johnson said? "Forty acres and a mule? Fuck them!" What a dick. Its truly amazing how Republicans and democrats basically went through role reversals. Thomas Jefferson was a Democratic-Republican. Makes you think about how the parties have evolved and changed. History...lol.
