Personal preference? Sony
Profitability wise? Nintendo without a doubt.
They just make one game per gen for many franchises and then keep it at $50 the entire gen and keep selling because there's only one Mario or Zelda or whatever for that system. It keeps the legs so well. Look at Twisted Metal back on PS1 they pushed out 4 vs. the 1 Mario Kart. Then Crash gets 3 main entries while Mario 64 stays at 1. Uncharted 1-3 vs. Zelda SS (TP was on Gamecube so I don't know how to count it). Sony cuts off the legs and makes games in a cinematic style which for some reason seems to cut the legs off. I love em both but I don't stick with one game that long so Sony has a slight edge for personal preference.
