Of course. Plus many games use DirectX, which was made by Microsoft to run in Windows. And the rumor is Sony has either licensed DirectX 11.1 or copied it for the PS4.
I would say around DirectX 6 it passed OpenGL, but other would say DirectX 10.
Even by Steam's own data, they had a significant number of people running their game on Windows 8, shortly after launch. Yea, you'd think those gamer would be on Linux more than about any other group.
To state otherwise is silly. That's why I laugh so hard I almost bruise a rib when people say, 'Screw Microsoft and the Xbox, I'm going to be a PC Gamer!"
