There's a reason why people who follow others around the street are considered weirdos.
Don't play cops and robbers if you're not an actual freaking cop. You're asking (more like begging) for a situation to get out of control and for a misunderstanding to arise.
This guy may be free, but he's going to have to live with the fact that a kid is dead at his hands because basically he initiated a situation that didn't need to be initiated in the first place.
I don't think he meant to kill the kid, but at the same time he's an idiot for creating a situation in which something like this could happen. Leave the police work to actual trained police officers.
