Face it, JRPGs are becoming a niche genre now (which is saddening). | JRPGs are not becoming a niche genre. If they were, even FF and KH wouldn't sell well. The reason why many JRPGs don't sell particually well is because of little to no marketing which is what many contribute to the "Tales of" series lack of success in america. JRPGs my not be as popular as WRPGs, action games, or shooters but even so, JRPG is far from a niche genre. |
JRPGs are decreasing in sales, though. And there are certainly a lot more niche JRPGs out there than mainstream. |
That's only because many of the developers who develop those niche RPGs are niche developers who don't have a lot of money to spend making one game.
