I take it your still in summer? The best bits are yet to come IMO. The mechanics are not perfect but I found the combat enjoyable. I could rarely ever sneak through entire environments so half way through stealthing it, I would get caught and all hell would break loose. I found this exhilerating, it felt real and the combat really visceral. Most areas are big playgrounds for combat so it was always fun to mix and match, stealth, melee and shooting, using whole of the environment to move around and take down your enemies. It sounds as if its too easy for you, so you don't have to do this? Maybe push up the difficulty settings to max. I was playing on Normal and died very often, so it encourage different approaches which was fun. As for the story it really hits its stride in fall. The story itself is largely redundant but its the charcterization I loved. I think the story telling in the game is near flawless, reserving the right things for gameplay and the right things through cutscenes where the script and animation are top class. Ultimately though every game tells a different narrative, maybe this narrative isn't for you? But finish it first!
