What Genre is it? RPG

Is it designed in the Japanese anime style? Yes

Any side-quest dungeons? Yes

Any other things in it that are usually found in JRPG's? Yes, fishing.

If it's not a JRPG then what the hell is it?

Since when were there rules that could alter the JRPG ingredients away from being called a JRPG, it’s a JRPG one way or another, it’s just not a typical one.
