I think Pikmin sells a few hundred thousand worldwide during the July/August global release window, and then sales taper off in September and at that point it's no longer a big seller. Too much competition from better-known properties. Pikmin 3 will need to be bundled with Wii U or marked down to $39 or $29 after the year is over in order to maintain a long tail. Since it is a game that appears to be made for Wii U and isn't possible on any other platform, it seems like a natural fit for a bundle. Just not this year. |
Pikmin can't compete wuth Mario & others, sure. But with this games, the intall base will grow and people buy games. So I think the sales of Pikimin 3 will have some legs
