I think there is more to it than MHZ and I wouldnt even put PS2 and WIi in the same boat, PS2 actually got alot of games that its superior console brethren got, cant really say the same for Wii as ALOT of games got skipped over due to lack of power on Wii's part. Hell the games that were shared by Wii and the HDs the difference between those were night and day, they werent even the same games in some cases. Again not really the case with PS2 and the GC XBOX ports, there were noticable differences but nothing too crazy. I disagree WIi u just doing a good job, IMHO is not cutting it, not when its only barely looking better than consoles that have been on the market for years. We are already seeing games that look better on PS4/x1 and they are not even out yet, whats gonna happen when devs really harness the power. Wii was never strong with side by side comparisons, that was one of the problems. What games were you playing were you can honestly say you didnt notice the difference between the HD and Wii versions. Besides the DLs, and Rayman, hell you can even see a difference in JD |
Okay fine.. if you want to compare every game on a side by side front.. let's do it.. the fact is the PS2 got the games yes.. but everything and I mean everything looked better on the Gamecube and The XBOX.. the only one that PS2 actually beat was Dreamcast... and even then it was by a slim margin.. and no the PS2 didn't have crazy differences.. but the PS2 did not have motion controls either... it was not a big selling point... The PS2 sucked... in terms of power and graphics compared to the other systems.. The enviroments looked worse.. the lighting was worse.. the High Def was terrible.. compared to the others.. and frankly.. it was way out of it's league... if it was not for the fact that it had DVD playing capabilities.. (Right out of the box) and backwards capability... it probably would have tanked for the most part... but the fact that it did.. saved it.. because it sure as heck wasn't raw power or the Internet Playing that was it's strong points.. like wise with the Wii if it wasn't for the waggle.. and cheap price point along with backwards capability.. it probably would not have went over as well.. the only difference I can see was total game library.. which was not part of my post.. so actually yes they are in the same boat.. they both had what consumers wanted/thought they wanted.. and sold well for it..
Nintendo Wii by generations...
1. Wii
2. Wii U
3. Wii O U
Predictions made by gamers concerning the current Nintendo line up of games.
Pikmen 3= Little Bump to nothing. (Got Little Bump)
Wind Waker HD= Won't sell anything (The explosion happened here and at one time 4 Wii U games was in the Amazon top 100)
Super Mario 3D World= Won't help at all looks cheap. (Currently the most sought after Wii U game and continuing the Wii U increase.)
