Both are great actors, but Pacino is better. Just because he's not in a wider range of genres doesn't change the fact that he plays every role amazingly well. Al Pacino isn't like Denzel Washington where who has the same personality every movie he's in. There's a clear difference between most of the characters that Pacino portrays.
