Best Starfox game that isn't Starfox 64

Edit: The fact is the people clamoring for Fox and Falco to have some sort of dramatic story are small, if Nintendo wants the franchise to do well, they need to get the gameplay and presentation back up to levels where it is a fun and great experience. They have the foundation, they just need to build on top of it rather then trying build off to the side.

I think the people clamoring for another star fox in are also small.  There's a difference between liking a game or two 20 years ago, and being a fan of a franchise.  I agree that gameplay is important, but without a good story arch, there's little reason to return to a franchise.  If they could nail a good storyAND great gamplay, they could actually revive the franchise, and not just for one game. 

Agree with this. The point I was trying to make is that effectively star fox could be rebooted and rebadged as a new IP as the games have been missing for so long.

Another example is fzero, look what they been saying about it, will release one once they can achieve something new.
