You can't understand why people like an amazing game? OT: The Last of US will easily outsell by years end because in only 2 weeks it almost sold as much as LM2 in 3 1/2 months but lifetime sales LM2 could pass it because of legs and the PS4.

The word ''like' is a understatement, ppl are worshipping this game. Ppl saying it's this gen's masterpiece, best game in the decade etc... THAT is what I don't understand.

And a other way of seeing things, LM2 has been out for over 2months now and it's this week 4th best selling game. Sure this is not the busy seasons in both terms of sales and new games launch, but it still launched the same week as Bioshock Infinite and this game is not in the top 10, it's not even in the top 20 despite having much higher sales at launch and on consoles with a much bigger userbase than LM2. Why was LM2 4th this week? Because of Animal Crossing that sold 200k 3DS, and everytime their will be a big 3DS boost, the same thing will happen again. When Pokémon launchs and even later in the holiday seasons where Nintendo handhelds usualy do extremely well we will see LM2 again do really impressive numbers especyaly for a 6months+ old game. This shows how incredible legs those Ninty games have, meanwhile in 2months+ TLoU will probably pull numbers similar to Bioshock today while being outsold by LM2 still going fairly strong. I also doubt PS3 will see a other big serious sale boost with PS4 coming.(altho I may be underestimating those casuals who will keep buying 7years old PS3s despite PS4 being out just because it's cheap but I doubt the majority of those ppl will rush towards TLoU as one of their first game).

 

edit: I should also add that TLoU is at 1.7mil after 2weeks. That is impressive indeed. But again, lets look at Bioshock and LM2. Bioshock, all consoles combine was at 1.6mil after 2weeks vs 800k for LM2. Bioshock had TWICE more sales than LM2! Everyone at the time would say say that it would be easy for Bioshock to win both year's end and lifetime. But what are the numbers today? Bioshock 2.4mil vs 2.1 for LM2, only a 300k difference and the way LM2 is outselling Bioshock weaks after weaks I think everyone would agree that odds are extremely in LM2's favor for winning both year's end and lifetime.
