My friends and I made a dream machine...a cylinder of paper spinning on a record player at 78 rpm, with specific designs cut into it and a light bulb inside...there's instructions online if you search.
I remember we tried it once, but it didn't really do anything, we were too awake and anxious. We tried it again when it was late and we were tired...we stared into it and drifted off...man did that thing work. I had some trippy dreams.
