You can pick your reasons because there are plenty to go around; The Wii U and the software to go with it, was not ready when it was released. The Wii U was released about 8-12 months early and people like me who purchased it at launch for the family (and 3rd party developers who released games on t to date) have paid for Nintendos mistakes.
