That depends how you define 'Generation'
Generation is not power. if it was based purely on power then the GC was a generation ahead of the PS2, and the Vita is a generation ahead of the 3DS, but thats just not the case.
I define generation through 2 means:
1) the next console in production
2) some form of innovation
Going by this, i class the Wii U as Next gen.
Current Game Machines: 3DS, Wii U, PC.
