It's a totally different game. They obviously have the staff, it's Double Fine and an adventure game! They just need to plan the costs better

i know, they are a pretty big team for a "small" developer but maybe they shouldn't have started a second project after they saw how this project got so much money. maybe they should have realized that they need the whole team for this game now. that would at least decrease the developing time.

ok, those who work on one game are probably not perfect for the other game since that are pretty different games but still, starting a new kickstarter project so short after they got so much money for the other project without really knowing how to handle that is crazy.

Both kickstarter projects combined wouldn't even take a third of the staff they have... Massive chalice is a different team entirely to Broken age with a different manager/director. They have at least 4 seperate dev teams working on different projects 2 of which are funded by the Indie Fund and anoth Dropchord which is funded by Steven Dengler the investor who also funded the PC ports of DF's games. Putting 65+ people on Broken Age would use up the budget in a few months and kill the company.
