The funny thing about people saying stuff like the NES generation is superior in skill is that it was mostly an easier generation than the previous one. NES, for the most part, switched from the twitch gaming of the Atari to memory based gaming, where all you really had to do was learn patterns. I used to literally beat most of the NES games I owned playing with the controller behind my back. NES only had a few really difficult games, the rest were cake once you figured out the timing.
