the original was cool at the time, but hasn't aged as well as 64 in my opinion. I think star fox adventures was a step in the right direction. I've actually thought that star fox could thrive as a 3rd person adventure/shooter, but with vehicles being a key centerpiece to the gameplay/levels. Come to think of it, something similar to starhawk for playstation3 would be amazing. Note: i said similar, not the same.

Dinosaur Planet should have remained Dinosaur Planet.

You turn Star Fox into a 3rd person action game, it becomes a generic entity far removed from what it really is, and what made it popular in the first place. Star Fox is supposed to be a space shooter. That's it's appeal. That's what made it great on SNES and N64. There really is no other games out there quite like Star Fox or SF64. It's a fairly unique entity. As such, to return to it's former glory, it needs to go back to it's roots, cut the bullshit, and just be a great space shooter again.

It can be compared to if they made a new Gradius game, but instead of a space shooter, it was a generic 3rd person shooter where you play the pilot running around on the ground shooting people with space guns. It would suck, and be totally pointless. "Starfox" Adventures was hardly a bad game. But it shouldn't have been shoehorned as "Starfox" game. Because it's not.
