I think this is true. Ghibli films are treated as Pixar films (great, but for kids) and most other shows are treated with a kind of cautious feelings because of unfamiliarity. Some things have older fans because they grew up with it, but they tend to ignore a lot of the new stuff. Doesn't help that 90% of anime airs well after midnight.

I do not know about television. I will say in the age of internet you can access things on your own schedule. Crunchy Roll is a good site as well as various localization ones (Funimation, etc.).

I'm not quite sure how this all related to what I was saying. I obviously like anime, and know how to obtain whatever I'm looking for.

You stated 90% of anime airs after midnight that create a perception. I was countering that internet age has no schedule of when things are on. From my experience more and more people are abandoning traditional cable/satellite model for internet and services like Netflix and/or Hulu.

I posting that from a Japanese point of view, because he was talking about how this was ok there and not here. I was saying it's largely looked upon the same way.
Also, most Americans (and anime fans) know very little if anything about air times, popularity, etc.
