I think they are probably porting next year's games to Wii U, in particular Star Wars (probably part of their deal) and sports if the Wii U install base is big enough by then. Also, with XBOne no longer taking blocking measures, they are no longer quite so supportive of that format. EA has definitely softened its stance toward Wii U. It no longer make sense for them to imply Frostbite won't work or isn't worth their time when they will be bringing Frostbite-based games to Wii U next year.
