Thats how I would spin that. 4/10 of those games are Action/Adventure. 2/10 of those games are Platformers 2/10 of those games are adventure 1/10 of those games is an action game 1/10 of those games is an FPS |
I try to avoid the "Action/Adventure" tag as often as I can, since it's basically a catch-all descriptor of prett ymuch every game that has ever existed that didn't come across as some other distinct genre.
For example, one could argue that The LEgend of Zelda and Metroid are both "Action/Adventure". It also tends to cover all games like the sandbox games. It's just too wide of a genre, so I keep it to stuff like Uncharted that has equal parts action and adventure, and sandbox games that are such wide varieties of stuff like Saints Row and Grand Theft Auto (since there's racing, shooting, some platforming, etc).
So yes, I avoid "Action/Adventure" as a genre.
