After stepping away from E3 are you disappointed with Mario 3D World?

For me, the ONLY disappointment I feel about Super Mario 3D World is because of its graphics. Visually speaking, they could have (and should have) pushed this game a lot further. Obviously it's going to look nice and colorful and crisp in HD and run at a silky smooth frame-rate...but 3D Mario games have historically been one of the BEST franchises to show off what Nintendo themselves can do visually on their own hardware. This year, 3D World was completely blown out of the water in terms of graphics by, of all things, Mario Kart. I agree with a lot of people who think Nintendo probably decided to go for immediate, approachable, simple fun with this title in order to have it ready for this holiday. Here's to hoping that a couple years AFTER this game is released, we get ANOTHER 3D Mario that really pushes the Wii U to its limit and hopefully it'll have a more open-world, free-roaming camera aspect to it.

All that being said, that's really the ONLY criticism I can level at 3D World. I'm incredibly stoked at the idea of multiplayer in a 3D Mario game where there's actually ROOM for multiplayer, and having 4 people (I expected 2) is just a bonus! I almost squealed with delight at them bringing Peach and Toad back as playable characters, complete with their own unique abilities like Super Mario Bros. 2. I can already tell from the trailer music that (just like Super Mario 3D Land) a single track from this games soundtrack will have more originality and character than ANYTHING in ANY of the 4 New Super Mario Bros. games. Same thing with the level design! And finally, while I was initially hesitant and not overly optimistic about Super Mario 3D Land's 2D/3D hybrid gameplay, after sinking 20 hours into it and completing it 100%, I can't WAIT for another game that is such a joy to play through and experience. I ended up LOVING Super Mario 3D Land, so much so that it's actually my 2nd favorite 3D Mario (after Mario 64), and so I know I'll love this game-which looks to improve upon it in almost every conceivable way-as well!
