| globalisateur said: @ metrium I agree with you. Nintendo is really milking the mario franchise now. - Low production value. This game could have been made on Wii just in 480p instead of 720p. Galaxy have better textures variety and Wow factor. This game really looks like a mario land 3D HD. Even Luigi's mansion 2 on 3DS looks more stunning and detailed. - Rely on too much generic and already seen game mechanics. We can see this statistical trend also with recent metacritic of mario games. It is called decline. But I am sure it will still be a 75/80 metacritic fun game. But we were all waiting for a 97 metacritic galaxy game, hence our despair! |
First of all, this game looks NOTHING like anything the Wii could handle. The game is of a considerably higher graphical quality. If you're talking about art style...well, what do you expect? This is how a Mario game looks. All of the One/PS4 games I saw at E3 just looked like shinier, smoother versions of what was possible on the previous consoles.
Generic and already seen game play mechanics? I got to play two demo levels, both in co-operative. In one level, we had to take control of a plesiosaur. We had to co-ordinate all of our movements in order to control it properly, and the first time we failed miserably and died horribly. We started yelling at each other, then we started co-ordinating with each other, and for the first time that I've been a gamer I actually had to actively co-operate with somebody. This isn't just four people randomly jumping around in a level, there are actual game play mechanics centered around this. And this is just one level. Its a little early to be predicting review scores.
