Maybe demand finally ends. Maybe people don't buy the Wii online. Maybe it's some strange fluctuation. If demand is the problem, then this trend will continue the next weeks. If the supply dries up for the release of Smash in the US, then we will see some big numbers in the release-week. To know for sure, we will have to wait a little bit longer. But it is fun to make speculation about the reasons in the time until then.

I don't think demand is the problem. I'll believe demand is drying up when I don't see the Wii sold out in more places than it was sold out at last year. Heck, as far as I can see it's even sold out in countries which were said to be Sony land, such as Portugal and Spain.

I'm thinking that there might indeed be some major stockpiling going on, for SSBB launch or Wii Fit or whatever.

We'll see pretty soon.
