Whut!? There's no purple fruit. Only Cherrys, Apples, Peachs, Pears, or Oranges can be a town's native fruit.

You can shake trees, knocking the fruit down, then either stand over them or pick them up and select them so their name appears. You can do that with any item. Also, fruits look pretty much the same as they do in real life so I'm a bit surprised you can't tell what fruit you have just by looking at it. :L
