honestly, if they made an advanced wiimote or something new to motion controls called it wii 2, priced it at 199 or 249(which they could have without the gamepad), it would have sold extremely well. The concept of the wii in my opinion never died, it was nintendos faith in it died in 2010

If that's what they wanted to do, they should've just honestly launched the "Wiii U" in fall 2011 with Zelda: Skyward Sword HD and all the third party PS3/360 ports. At least they'd have had a 2 year headstart in that case.

Nintendo Land + tablet controller could've been like a seperate game ala Wii Fit + Balance Board still I think.

I think the wii u gamepad is actually a good idea, but not necessarily the best for console to be revolved around because of how expensive it is. think about it, miyamoto said it would add 100 dollars to the ps4 and xboxone if it was added, like holy crap. Iwata should of thought this through before going through with it. I think its going to sell 40 to 50 million eventually, which isnt bad, but they could have sold a lot more. Thats the price you pay i guess when you innovate, but you gotta know when to do it
