The Earth is a skin flake on the elephant of the universe. We only matter to ourselves. Indeed we are largely irrelevant to the course of evolution on Earth. We are not going to destroy life on Earth. We might cause it to fundamentally change, like the Asteroid impacts from the past which wiped out 95%(?) of all life. All our actions will be doing is setting life on a different evolutionary path.
Why does global warming and pollution matter? Only, and I mean only, because of what it means for people. "Life" doesn't care what climate state the globe is in, it will carry on and evolve through whatever changes might happen. If all the bees die, does that spell the end of life? No, it means the extinction of some plant species, and probably some animals, but others will fill the niche and some other insects will fill the pollinator niche. Life will go on and evolution does not end.
The thing that will eventually wipe out all life on Earth is the Sun, in a few billion years time.
“The fundamental cause of the trouble is that in the modern world the stupid are cocksure while the intelligent are full of doubt.” - Bertrand Russell
