| Goatseye said: So everybody should play Uncharted on Xbox right? Do you know why MS and Xbox 360 were so loved by the devs and publishers? They didn't compete with them. They gave them the system to put more games there without too much first party competition. What's with the emphasis on exclusives anyways? To childishly brag about to other people that don't have Playstation? If I want to play a game like Uncharted, I'll play Tomb Raider. Heavy Rain, I'll play LA Noir. Socom, I'll play COD. What's the point of bragging about exclusives? |
I never said everyone on the Xbox should play Uncharted, but I had both so really I had the best of both worlds. I had friends who love TPS who could never experience Uncharted and I had friends who loved FPS on the PS3 who never got to experience Halo in this generation. MS and the 360 are loved by third parties not because of the fact that they didnt compete with them, that is a fallacy and a whole other argument. Xbox Live was a pro developer (consumer secondary) product laying the burden of paying for the servers on consumers amongst other things. Sony made the third parties pay for their own servers for online multiplayer in the beginning, but I guess now they've fallen into the profit scheme MS has exploited.
If you want to play Uncharted, Tomb Raider is no replacement....at all. Tomb Raider doesn't even play like the Tomb Raider of old. There is no replacement for Halo or Gears...no matter how many Quantum Theories arise out of Tecmo. Gears is a great franchise to play and so is Halo and both system sellers even though Gears isn't first party.
There is no multiplat replacement for the Last of Us and there will not be one for InFamous.
Ms is investing in project Spark which makes up for a lack of first party creation games like Little Big Planet.
As for your list...
Say it this way to be more accurate instead of willfully ignorant:
You play LA Noir....PS3 gamers play LA Noir. (Multiplat)
You play COD... PS3 gamers play COD.
Essentially you are locked out of the exclusives, theres no base for comparison so stop acting like there is and theres no PC to run to for certain exclusives like MS. Fable, Alan Wake, Mincraft, Left 4 Dead 1 &2 and much, much more all available on PC and on Steam.
Exclusives are the brand identity of a console, the life blood and charisma that makes them stand out otherwise you're not really choosing consoles for games but rather for specs and online (which is fine too, just pick your poison and own it) without them, they're just a multiplat console incapable of standing on its own two feet.
MS and Sony consoles are mirror images of each other in third party offerings so the point you're making is futile.
