Go up and down your street and ask the little old ladies or whoever if they want their lawns cut/snow shoveled.
I hated it as a kid of course, but I got about $200 once a month from the old lady next door for shoveling snow and cutting the lawn over the year. At 13 years old, that was a goddamn fortune to me. I saved most of it, but of course I bought a few videogames.
