Smart decision, but nobody will buy a PS Eye now. If Sony wanted to sell it as a seperate device then they should have made it as powerful as the Kinect 2.0.

They've always given people the choice. I think the article is bullshit because Sony has never forced the eyetoy in any of their Playstations for two generations now. This would be the third and they still haven't really sold it to the audience.

True, but if Sony wanted to attract the casuals MS is targetting with the Kinect 2.0, then they should have made the PS Eye as impressive as the Kinect.

The problem therein is because its hard to attract an adequate  number of casuals with a $500 videogame system just because of a camera. Casuals wont be interested in anything Sony or MS would be offering in that respect until like..possibly three to four years into its lifecycle until the price drops to about $299 or $349 bundled. The games better be worth it as well for the sake of the casuals. These devices are starting to become overkill and Microsoft bundled the Kinect because they know it wont sell on its own. If this article is correct, then its crazy how Sony and MS would invest in the damned fate of peripherals. I never wanted any of these so Sony not forcing it on me is a good thing. I just want to play games even though I do dance and enjoyed Dance Central when I had my Xbox that was the only game I enjoyed on my Kinect. Everything else was not even on par with the ideal.
