The main difficulty in a Pikmin game is learning what specific strategies to use against different enemies in battle.
If you're willing to sacrifice a lot of Pikmin you can kill most enemies by just throwing a bunch on them.
But you tend to get attached to those little guys.. and that forces you to learn the strength of each Pikmin type and the weakness of each enemy.
In tackling the environments you also use a similar strategy. It's not too hard but takes a little practice & experimentation to learn.
