No.. just no... please stop. I mean an *infinite* amount of power. Do you even know what the term infinite means. You do know that Sony can use the "Cloud" as well right? The cloud is great for online games/MMO's, but it *wont* in any shape or form improve the performance of single player experiences. It would allow (just like Diablo) to perhaps include new gameplay experiences - such as you can make changes server side to loot drops, and automatically when players connect they get this newly configured data. So from that point of view it could be useful... but it will not change the performance of hardware. |
The term cloud is misunderstood. Cloud just means servers available online.
Its what is set up for those servers to do that is the differnce.
Sony don have servers set up for processing data to enhanc a machine. Thereservers are used for playing PS3 titles on PS4. As in completely rendered in thecloudand streamed to play like Steam can do.
Microsofts Cloud is set up for processing data and sending that back to th machine, freeing up memory ad CPU tasks. Things like AI, Physics etc. Not necessarily display processes. But that still means Microsoft has more local memory on the console to use for Graphics. Etc.
Theres a great article Im just trying to find that shows just what Cloud means for Sony/Microsoft.
But cloud is just that. Servers.
