It all comes down to cost of the development kit.  Nintendo, has eliminated many hurdles for the indie community one of which is cost of development kits, and putting money down for a game engine etc.  The Unity engine run on all platforms including PS3 if I am not mistaken.  The only diffrence is that the Wii U uses DirectX-11 equivalent functionality while PS3 uses DirectX-8.1 equivalent functionality.  Seeing how this is not a graphically intensive game and a throw back to old school Dreamcast and PS1 (you know when FF--the good ones, Grandia, Tales, Saga frontier, Skies of Arcadia, etc) in HD the PS3 would work really well.  Though I think Vita would be the platform they are looking at the moment since that is what Sony fans are asking for.

Hmmm, I see. Thank you for answering as not always sure how that all works. I wonder if PS4 might be easier for them then since th egame likely won't be out for a while anyways.  Again, I wish this guy and the game success and owuld love to play it some day.

Yeah he seems like a cool guy thus why I am supporting this endeavor for both the Wii U and the Vita.  It's nice to see people follow their dreams despite the hurdles that may prevent them.  I for one, wanted to go into game development when I was young; but instead stayed in the medical field for financial reasons.  Don't get me wrong I am happy, but it would have been nice to follow what you wished for when you are young.   Oh, I completely understand about the lack of games for the Wii U at the moment.  Nintendo really dropped the ball in terms of having enough games available to the public when the system was released.  It was a great launch though and I think they are remedying the situation by making it extremely easy (beyond what had been done for the indies) to create games for them by the independent community.
