I'd instantly put down $20 for a PSN version. Curious why Wii U is selected over it as thought Sony was doing okay working with indies.

It looks like my type of game, has a Dreamcast feel to it. I will debate on it a bit for now, thank you for bringing it up and linking to it.

Probably because Nintendo and Unity's have really partnered up beyond what Unity had done with other companies.  Nintendo went as far as including the Unity Pro engine for all their development kits making the engine the official/preferred engine for the Wii U.  Oh this game is running on the Unity engine so porting would be a lot easier. For Sony's console the indies will have to provide their own engine which cost tens of thousand of dollars if not more.  Regardless this is going to be a stretch goal for both Wii U and VIta.

So Vita is no problem but PS3 is?  Curious.  I want this to succeed, but given I don't plan on getting a Wii U until 2015 at the earliest I am hesitant to back it.

It all comes down to cost of the development kit.  Nintendo, has eliminated many hurdles for the indie community one of which is cost of development kits, and putting money down for a game engine etc.  The Unity engine run on all platforms including PS3 if I am not mistaken.  The only diffrence is that the Wii U uses DirectX-11 equivalent functionality while PS3 uses DirectX-8.1 equivalent functionality.  Seeing how this is not a graphically intensive game and a throw back to old school Dreamcast and PS1 (you know when FF--the good ones, Grandia, Tales, Saga frontier, Skies of Arcadia, etc) in HD the PS3 would work really well.  Though I think Vita would be the platform they are looking at the moment since that is what Sony fans are asking for.
