Aaron, is it true or not that the game went over budget twice?

Yes, the game went over budget twice, but that is extremely different from mismanaging the budget of a game.

Mismanaging would be things like paying people too much money, moving into a luxurious office that is completely unneeded, etc.
Going over the budget just means that the original amount that was allotted for the project wasn't enough to complete it.  It is a very common occurance in everything from entertainment to construction.

With Journey, it went over budget twice because the scope of the game kept changing.  We were originally planning our current game to have a much shorter development time than Journey, but the scope of the game has changed.  That means that the game will go/has gone over the budget, but it doesn't mean that the budget was mismanaged.

As for lurking (outlawauron):
I just get moderately disgruntled when "this stuff" becomes news.  It was already "revealed" months ago.  I also just prefer to have correct information flowing around the internetz, so I've searched for "thatgamecompany" over the last 24 hours on Google before.

And as for Sony and exclusivity (kitler53):
There is no way that we could have made Journey the game that it was on the PS3 without all of the amazing support that we got from Sony Santa Monica, and from other PS3/Sony developers.  They gave us money to make games that revolved around feelings that don't exist in gaming, which has never been done before by any large publisher.  The same goes for flOw and Flower.  Going multiplatform doesn't mean that we hate Sony or that the next game won't be on one or more of their consoles, it just means that we're trying to make our games more accessible to more people.

Super cool to see someone from thatgamecompany on the forums here! Big fan of Journey sir! And hope you guys keep making super cool games in the future.
