Microsoft joined the gaming industry solely because Sony was becoming a dominant multimedia force and Microsoft has to stop anyone from doing that, which is why they are facing the top multimedia giants simultaneously as we speak. Games are part of the equation that they must face and eventually they'll get over their hump, but it wasnt a natural transition for them.

Right, Sony is in for both games and multimedia. Which is no different than MS. I'm glad we got that cleared up.

Sony beat Nintendo simply by throwing money around, getting better support, and using CDs. I'm reluctant to say the PS1 was better technology than N64 for any other reason than CDs.
