The problem with Pikmin is that it;s been a decade since we last had an entry in the series. I remember when Pikmin 2 was originally slated for holiday 2003 but got pushed into 2004... can't tell you how many customers had asked me about Pikmin 2 and when it was coming out during the holiday season at the store I worked at. Nintendo killed any momentum the series had during the GC generation, and then when it seemed like Pikmin 3 on the Wii would be a no brainer considering the Wii's unique control scheme tailor-made for a game like Pikmin and the fact that the Wii was the best selling console in Nintendo's history, Nintendo left the game on the shelf in favor of things like Wii Music... yay.

Pikmin 3 won't sell well at all, one because it's on a console severely lacking in sales and support, and two because many of the people who were interested in the series back during the GC days just don't think it's worth spending $300-$350 on a new console just to be able to play it.

I see your point but at the time Pikmin (1) launched, the GC had really low sales too. Plus, it had to compete with Luigi's Mansion & Melee. Pikmin 3 will be the only new Wii U game for about a month. I still think it can outsell both GC games but we'll see.
