I honestly thought that if they would have done better naming it "Nii" or something. They managed to strike gold with the name Wii but Wii U lacked in comparison, along with looking very similar to the last Wii redesign probably confused folk.

But aside from the subpar name, the biggest mistake was not having the games or the system itself ready even when they had announced the system over a year before.

Edit: Looking at the schedule, the lack of plans such as being able to purchase or use two tablets at once, Nintendo seems to have gone over board on their normally economic approach to hardware design and software leaving the system looking like the Wii HD analysts had said Nintendo should have dropped back in 2010.
