I think NST may be working on Star Fox or Metroid. That's just my hunch though.

Miyamoto seems to be putting the ki-bosh on F-Zero though. Which sucks.

I didn't get that from his comments. He has said in the past that he WANTS to see a new F-Zero, Star Fox, etc.

I think that, and keep in mind it was translated from Japanese, that he personally would like to think of a new element they could add to the F-Zero formula, instead of merely doing an HD remake or sequel. That's not a bad thing, even though "just having an HD F-Zero" wouldn't neccesarily be a bad thing either.

Actions speak louder then words. Miyamoto is basically the top dog at Nintendo in terms of games, before reaching the position of control over most of the publisher's releases, he didn't make it hidden that he wouldn't make games his family couldn't play. Even though he worked on Star Fox and F-Zero, you can sort of tell he doesn't really have much affection for either franchise given most of the games since the GC/GBA era have been lent out to external developers rather then worked on in house.

If he really wanted to have a game made for any of the systems, just like they do with various Kirby, Mario and Zelda games coming up with something unique wouldn't be hard except they don't want to divert anything toward the franchises given the majority of their niche fanbases are outside of Japan. Miyamoto can talk a decent game but really he doesn't seem that motivated to get it done, even when either franchise would have done wonders with a new installment appearing on the Wii or the 3DS.

At this point Nintendo Just need to buy sega and platinum games. Its really that simple.

I doubt the talent that makes up Platinum would stay if they got bought out, they seem to prefer freedom rather then being given assignments hence their exodus from Capcom. SEGA's group of developers and stable of franchises would fit perfectly in with Nintendo's. The only one that might be a problem is Yakuza, but even that isn't that so bad compared some of their previous releases long as Nintendo isn't foolish about the club portions of the game.
