Wow, great quote.  And wouldn't he know from life the cost of war better than most of us?  He was very conflicted about which side to support in the war, saw his country ripped apart, people murder each other, and cities burned.  Also his lands were taken to make what is now Arlington Cemetery. 

I see how bad it is now with the 'Red' (Republican) side of the family verses the 'Blue'(Democrats and everyone else).  It often breaks on educational and economic lines, I can just imagine how bad it would get if they started killing each other.
