What fans do want is a proper console game being developed by the teams that made Square's games special. Square still has those important employees so why not give them high positions in game development? Tetsuya Nomura and Kazushige Nojima were pretty much on hold with the endlessly delayed FF Versus XIII. Nobuo Uematsu expressed his discomfort with the company by literally saying "Square is a pain in the ass" Hiroyuki Ito said he would work on a new Final Fantasy game if his boss "allows" it. The people who once defined the company are being ignored by Square's leadership LOL. I hope that clarifies a little. |
What's ironic is that after the FFVII betrayalton, a lot of Squaresoft's former workers went back to Nintendo. The people that did SMRPG are at alphadram doing the M & L series. Monolith Soft comprised of the guys who did Xenogears back in the day. Some more went to Brownie Brown and I believe some went to Intsys.
(Info not complete, just what I remember) After the merger, the company really fell.
