i'm willing to try any game that gets decent reviews (70% or higher) to see if i liked it. And enjoyed lots of them. Vanquish and Yakuza didn't do too well in the west but i loved those games. But most people are not willing to try something different, they will stick to one or two franchises which i think is pointless when consoles cost so much money.
