There's mass market, niche, and mass market games with a niche sub fanbase.
That's why I like Halo so much....such a menagerie of different fan groups that can NEVER see eye to eye. Every Halo fan rates their favorite Halo games differently.
The Halo lore fans are the niche minority and the Multiplayer casuals are what make it sell millions upon millions. We get more story and they get more MP. We help eachother :)
