Developers certainly can still utilize the cloud, I just worry about the priority it will receive when they know some people have no Internet. Kind of like the HDD and no HDD 360 consoles. Developers had to design games as if the machine had no HDD. I think as the gen progresses and great broadband becomes cheaper and more readily available, it will improve. Kind of like how on PS2 at the start we saw plenty of online games neutered by catering to people with 56k, but by the end a lot of them required broadband. I agree about the stagnation. I hope they change things up, we saw plenty of developers and publishers go under this gen. With the new gen being the same policy wise, seems we could lose some more. |
Yeah it sucked to see so many studios tank. But I agree later on down the line in the gen we will see developers make a change!
