They'll have 3D Mario, Pikmin 3, and W101 at the end of the year. They have the software, they NEED to cut the price before Christmas or it's gameover, talking N64 levels sales best scenario. After 2014 when Smash and Kart have already been released, it's going to be nothing but decline, so they need to make the absolute most of the end of this year as well.
That said, I fully expect a major price cut coinciding with 3D Worlds to counter the launch of the PS4 and One (which I fully expect will be dropped to $399 before launch). I also feel incredibly confident they're no longer taking a loss on the hardware.
