I would much rather play games with DRM for free online, instead of being forced to pay a monthly subscription to play online. |
Microsoft put pressure on them. They were losing money doing so much for gamers and ended up losing out in the end, Plus is very deserving of the $50 a year and they saw that gamers pay for it willingly. They found a way to give gamers more than Microsoft ever did and just tacked on multiplayer to add to its overall value. They dont block anyone from any other experience like Netflix and Hulu Plus. Steam taught companies how to give back to their gamers, Sony heeded this trend and now Microsoft is learning from Sony by doing the same for Xbox Live gamers.
Say thank you to Valve and Sony.
