So considering airflow in a thight space you either have the heat of the APU being blown over that memory or the other way around, and you need quite alot of airflow to dissipate all that heat. Also both cpu and gpu are now in the exact same spot. I was really amazed that AMD could fit an 8 core cpu together with such a GPU.

The amount of chips didn't change... 16 chips... like 8GB DDR3 of Xbone... and it is not a lot.

It might not seem like a lot but 1gb of GDDR5 uses 4-5 Watts at the very least. So thats 32w-40w in total, that's already more than an entire Wii-U console uses. And the PS4's APU will create more heat than the Cell or the RSX on their own, so that's quite alot of heat in one spot.
