I'm happy with my 3DS. I'm not going to spend an additional $300 (Vita + memory Card) not including cost of games to have a second handheld. I also don't buy all 3 consoles anymore, because I can't justify spending over $1,000 just on hardware to play video games. The cost of my hobby has not been rising in proportion to my salary (in my specific case, I'm actually making less now than I was at the start of the previous video game generation - lost my management position and had to change work fields.) For the same reason that I bought XBox 360 and Wii but skipped PS3 last gen, I already have a Wii U and might get a PS4 but skip XBox 1 this gen. For me, it is priorities when it comes to finances. I'm not unhappy with the games I have for 3DS, therefore I don't have a need to shell out over $300 for a secondary handheld.
