I highly doubt Nintendo will go digital only.
They operate like a toy company. They want to put physical things in people's hands to mess around with. It's one thing to embrace digital, another thing for Nintendo to go digital only.
But then again kids that are 4-5 nowadays sure have no problem buying things off the app store.
I can see MS and Sony doing this though.
